Abstract: Twelve children on the autism spectrum ranging in age from 5 yrs. 8 mo. to 12 yrs. 4 mo. in Northern Ireland participated in the study.

Stroke is a devastating condition. Studies show it as the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer in the US and the UK, in England and Wales. Sadly, stroke is also a leading cause of adult disability. Stroke impacts the brain: the effects depend on the area of the brain affected and the length of time the area is without oxygen. Although the risk is highest for people over 55, according to the American Stroke Foundation, it can affect people of all ages, genders and races. A stroke can even occur prior to birth.

Study: Identifying the Effectiveness of a Music-based Auditory Stimulation method on Children with Sensory Integration and Auditory Processing Concerns: A Pilot Study

Abstract: 6 children who present with sensory processing disorder (SPD) and auditory processing concerns with ages ranging from 3 yrs 11 mo. to 8 yrs. 7 mo. 4 of whom were receiving therapy services participated in the study.  Results from standardized testing demonstrated a significant improvement in all children who completed the program, compared to just therapy alone.
